The first public information meeting was held for the proposed project on June 5, 2018 from 5:00 – 7:00 PM at Seawell’s Banquet Facility. A total of 80 people were in attendance at the public meeting resulting in 30 comments received at the meeting and 6 additional comments received online via email or the project website. The South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT) and Federal Highways Administration (FWHA) are currently working to schedule the next Public Information Meeting, tentatively scheduled in the Spring of 2020. Once the date is confirmed, a notice will be posted in the newspaper as well as on the project Facebook page and the project website. Informational signs will also be posted at various locations within the project study area. Preliminary alternatives currently under development will be presented to the public for input and comment at this meeting.
